The process begins with a meeting between forge management and employees, where informal conversations reveal employee satisfaction levels and desired changes. Electrical maintenance workers were the first employees from whom the company’s management sought proposals. Ivana Kajanová from the Environment and Occupational Safety Department explains, “After discussing together, it became evident that they would prefer a cast floor in the workshops, for instance. Management’s response ultimately led to a decision for a complete reconstruction of the workplace.”

Renovated spaces and increased competencies
Much of the work was carried out by the employees themselves. They cleared out the premises, sorted unnecessary items, and contributed to the design of the workshop’s layout.

The workplace received a new floor, and the walls were given a new surface with paint. New work tables, cabinets, and racks for documentation and tools were added to the refurbished workshop, alongside renovations to changing rooms and the kitchenette.

Additionally, electrical maintenance saw the installation of a switchboard for testing motors and a measuring table, with monitoring systems relocated to the department. Electrician Ján Bažík notes, “This has provided the department staff with new competencies. We now monitor electricity consumption, the state of furnaces, and the condition of the compressor station. Moreover, electrical maintenance is equipped with new software for heating on forging lines and a new circulation station.”

The reconstruction of the electrical maintenance site at HKS Forge was carried out while fully operational, lasting four months and costing €16,000. Ivana Kajanová expresses satisfaction, stating, “We have received very positive feedback from employees regarding the changes. We are pleased that the ideas originated directly from them and that they were actively involved in the process.”
